Your feet are the place where you kiss the earth. They are two marvels of bio-tensegrity, small mobile platforms pre-tensioned in a dynamic spiral that offers support and adaptability. Each foot houses 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles and tendons, and over 7,000 nerves which act as downwards sensory antennae. Lively, pliable, intelligent feet are vitally important for balance as well as stability whether we are walking or doing yoga.
This immersion explores how your feet are the foundation for all movement. We will investigate how having happy feet improves your breathing, circulation, the health of your organs, and an overall feeling of wellbeing. Learn how to create a healthy, vibrant relationships between your feet, your pelvis and spine and how to refine those connections to find effortlessness and ease in asana. We will move through standing poses, balances and floor work.
In the Vedas, the feet are called ‘the organs of action.’ Come explore and experience how to stand on your own two feet with poise and presence. This workshop will include yoga, somatics, embodied anatomy, breathwork, movement inquiry, developmental movement, bio-tensegrity, and a passion for the body-mind-spirit. The Sacred Pelvis (All About the Pelvis)

Your pelvis acts like the hub of a wheel facilitating movement in all directions, while providing a stable base to move from. It is your ballast and an extraordinary creation of human evolution into upright posture. 60% of your body’s weight travels through it.
This immersion will explore your relationship to your pelvis and how to integrate all your body parts through this central hub. We will examine how your pelvis talks to your legs and your spine, and how to make intelligent alignment choices that are uniquely tailored to your structure. We will investigate how to create containment within asana while facilitating ease, grace and power. During the class, we will explore standing, supine, prone, seated poses and an inversion. As we refine pelvic relationships, asana practice begins to evolve effortlessly,
and even complex movements are instinctively refined. You may discover how the gift of being physically centred promotes emotional stability and a deeply seated sense of self. Come move, play and explore your awe inspiring pelvis. This workshop will include yoga,

Growing a Backbone (All About the Spine)

When we move it can be useful to ask ‘where and how can I best get support for this movement?’ One way of doing this is orienting ourselves physically and psychologically around the central axis of our spine. Your vertical core is designed to flex, extend, side bend, rotate, twist and undulate – if you let it. In this immersion we will explore how movement is the key to balance. We will investigate how your bones ‘talk’ to one another and to the other tissues that touch them. We will move through forward bending, side bending, back-bending and twisting to dynamically refine spinal relationships and support ease and integrity in asana. Come and discover your supple, fluid, undulating, sensous spine. Learn about the embryological origin of midline and how it created a polestar orientation for your adult body. Examine how bones dance with your breath and the forces of gravity travelling through them. Explore how to move from your vertical core with grace and gratitude. Learn how to create a more conscious conversations and feel a whole new body unfold in your awareness. This is an invitation to move, play and rediscover your wondrous spine. Shoulder Magic (All About the Shoulders)

Your arms and hands are where you reach out to connect with the world. They are balanced on your shoulder blades, two translucent bones that act as anchors for the arms. Seventeen muscles attach to each shoulder blade and each of these is bound in a fascial web from the smallest cell outwards. This immersion explores how to release, balance, and strengthen your shoulder girdle. We will examine what is functional for happy, healthy shoulders and how incorrect alignment creates micro-stresses that add up over time. We will look specifically shoulder integrity in weight bearing poses like upward dog and chaturanga variations, and contrast these to non-loaded asana like eagle or cow-faced pose. Tightness, adhesions and weakness anywhere in the tissues affects the mobility, strength and alignment of the whole shoulder girdle. Learn how to combat computer shoulders, tech neck, and other repetitive strains. Say goodbye to tension and hello to embodied ease and relaxation. This immersion is an open hearted embrace of your shoulders.
